Elemental messages is primarily a sound piece, with the visuals of a video being secondary to the concept. Initially you hear ordinary water droplets falling into a small, contained body of water. This is followed by reversed video and sound in which the timescale has been manipulated, exposing the secret voices of the water. It seems that this natural element could be communicating with us through whispers and hidden messages. What’s fascinating about this piece is that each listener may not hear what I hear, everyone’s perception and internal lexicon is different, formed by the individual’s life experiences and expectations.
