Message from Dr Steve Fossey

(Senior Lecturer in Fine Art/Programme Leader at the University of Lincoln)

"As Programme Leader for Fine Art at the University of Lincoln, I am incredibly proud of how this group of creative and resourceful artists have risen to the challenges they have faced in these recent extraordinary times.  This Degree Show is the culmination of three years of dedication and hard work, and whilst I am proud of each and every student showing work in this show, I am unsurprised by their tenacity and resolve. During their time on the Fine Art Programme, these artists have pushed boundaries and asked intelligent questions about our world, responding to our human condition with energy and dynamism."

"Recently the landscape we work in and the way we interact with one another has changed significantly, but rather than see our global situation as a time to compromise, the creative individuals on this Fine Art Degree have found ways to collaborate and invent exciting solutions.  The Space Between Us is an apt title for a show that explores connection, dialogue and the dynamics of proximity.  This Show is the first of its kind, and I am confident that my future students and I will look back on The Space Between Us and take inspiration from what the University of Lincoln’s Fine Art Class of 2020 did when the world went into lock down."
