Jess has lived in the Sincil Bank area of Lincoln most of her university career, so it only seems fitting for her final project here to be based on the streets and people she has been surrounded by. Many don’t see the beauty in Sincil Bank; however, Jess uses her practice to peel away its rough exteriors, engaging with the community to highlight what truly makes it a wonderful place. Through digital photography and analogue darkroom processes, the diversity, architecture and humble nature of the area is exposed, diverting from the troubles of Sincil Bank and helping the community re-discover its beauty.
