Poppy Scoulding

Poppy Scoulding is a young artist who works with mixed media including live art, performance to camera and installations. Scoulding will be continuing her studies at the University of Lincoln to develop her practice further on the MA Fine Art course.

 

Throughout her work, a theme of human emotions and sensation is a heavy influence including the human reactions to disgust and lying. Her performative works often include a large installation – mocking the theatrics of set and costume design – with many actors often adopting characters instead of a self-performance. She states that this approach helps to communicate her work to a larger audience by removing the traditional gallery setting from her work, even if placed in a gallery.
